Traditional Algonquin Recipes

At The Algonquin Canoe Company, our guides Lloyd and Roy cook meals along our 3-hour to 5-day tours.  They cooked hundreds of traditional Algonquin meals, and wanted to share recipes with our readers.  Algonquins have been around perfecting recipes for centuries, living off land that mother nature gave us.

As we prepare for Aboriginal Day on 21 June, we wanted to give you some recipes so you could share our joy for cooking (as well as mother nature)! We’ve attached one recipe for now, but in the coming weeks, we’ll include more scrupulous ideas for Northeastern Canadian local food..
